HOW TO APPLY
Thank you for your interest in Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte. We seek a safe and healthy home for every person in the Charlotte area by providing critical home repairs free of charge to selected homeowners through our Emergency Repair Program or our Building a Healthy Neighborhood Program. Homeowners are selected based on qualifying criteria, types of repairs needed, and the ability and availability of our volunteers to complete the needed work. Because we are a volunteer driven organization, we may not be able to address any structural issues. Please review the eligibility information below before applying.
General Eligibility Requirements
General Eligibility Requirements
- You must own your home, live in it, and intend to remain in it for at least five years after receiving repairs from RTGC.
- The total gross combined income for all residents of your home, including any rental income, must be less than 80% of the Area Median Income.
- You must be current on property taxes and mortgage payments or on a documented payment plan.
- You must have an active homeowner’s insurance policy or must agree to obtain one as soon as repairs are completed.
- Building a Healthy Neighborhood - your home must be located in a specific neighborhood. Our selected neighborhood for 2021 is Lakeview. If you’d like to apply from outside of Lakeview, we are accepting applications for our wait list, which aids in our selection of the next Building a Healthy Neighborhood community.
- Emergency Repair Program - your home must be in Mecklenburg County and be in need of urgent, time-sensitive repairs such as a broken furnace or water heater, leaking roof, or critical accessibility modifications.
